Can anyone tell me where this statement is nec /?
In this code (NEC) said you can not have a switch box close to 5 feet of water, there is a previous answer, I know I've seen almost brand new with panels and an outside hose bib down, not 5 feet would have been inspected in the biggest city I have the book and the only thing I can find is 225.60 and he said 17 feet of water for drivers
Clause 408.17 points to 312.2 (a) and states that enclosures be installed in wet weather resistant. All exterior panels are subject to rain shall be watertight. I find nothing that indicates a control panel shall be 5 meters from a water tap. The thing to remember is that many cities and counties have in excess of the requirements of the NEC. In other words, a city or county may require an electrical panel would be 5 meters from a water tap despite no CNE.
